      Founded by Karan Gokani and JKS Restaurants, Hoppers is inspired by Sri Lanka’s toddy shops, spice gardens, and coastal kitchens — and the streets and homes of South India. It serves hoppers, dosas, kothu, and the kind of food that’s best shared.

      About Karan

      Karan grew up in Mumbai with a deep love for food and hospitality.

      After studying law at Cambridge and working as a solicitor in London, he left the corporate world to follow his passion for cooking, travelling across India and Sri Lanka to explore their food and culture.

      In 2015, he co-founded Hoppers in London with JKS Restaurants. The restaurant quickly earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand and now has locations in Soho, Marylebone, and King’s Cross. Karan is also the author of Hoppers: The Cookbook and the upcoming Indian 101: Real Indian Recipes Made Simple, and regularly appears on BBC, MasterChef UK, and NBC’s Today Show, sharing Indian and Sri Lankan cooking with a wider audience.
